A buddy hit the mother load on a bow hunt and dropped some off. There's a bunch of ways to cook and eat them, but I prefer to make them the star of the dish. Sauteed in butter and EVOO, hit with fresh chopped garlic at the end so as not to burn it, add a little chicken stock, reduce, toss with cooked pasta and a handful of grated parmesan, salt and pepper. Pretty much the Original Fettuccine Alfredo with the Chanterelles. I remembered to take a pic before it vanished...

Damn you, Rick. That pasta dish looked awesome, but then you had to throw in the breakfast pic!

Looks good. I really like them too. Ours came in June this year. Good stuff.....I didn't have the elk and gravy with mine though I bet that was great!

This batch is one of the best I've seen. They're really big, colorful and have a nose and flavor that is very distinct.
If you live in chanterelle country, you may want to do some hunting for them even at this late time of the year.

We have them. Found tons back in June. Normally we find them "here" in July. Was early this year and haven't noticed any since. Wouldn't mind coming across a mess of them.
