Jeff,
There was some sign. I'm most excited about die with fawn tracks. We haven't seen that much at all the last few years. We found some huge buck tracks in a clear cut landing. If i didn't know better, you'd think they were a calf moose...they weren't!
We have a couple spots picked out for me and the kids to sit. The trail cams were hit and miss. One had nothing on it, one had a doe, a doe with fawn, and a then a nubbie on it.
I can't believe how wet everything was though. One spot that I've never seen water, had water up to my knees, right over the top of my muck boots
Camp is where you make it.

We spent a wonderful weekend up north by the deer camp north of duluth. This time it was a father/daughter weekend. We went to a wedding Friday night, then spent a two beautiful days in the woods. We checked trail cams, rode 4-wheeler, hit the Portland Malt Shop, walked some trails for grouse, ate pizza.... It was a perfect weekend weather wise, and it was perfect company! What about that salad...

Bman, Congrats on the archery elk!! That is my dream hunt! Unfortunately I can't compliment you on the pic because this site is so hit and miss lately all I see is a box with an X in it on most pictures. Not all mind you...but most. Grrrr

Muzzle loader starts here October 1st. and regular gun starts October 11th. Guys are growing beards , buying guns , stands , trail cameras , etc. like crazy. It's ON!.

it's practice rut Dave! You probably shouldn't shave any more though. Mine's getting grayer...so I thought about it.

went out scouting for elk tonight, saw lots of deer, no elks though. tomorrow one might meet his maker if I find him!
WAY too early for deer rut out here, the elks just started getting vocal, way late for them too
