It's fairly amazing that one person is holding in excess of 20% in a 15(?) candidate field.

it's probably because a ton of repub, demo, and independent voters are so pissed off with the proceedings for differing reasons that no-one has a best idea as to what to do next.

the strength of trump might well emanate from all across party lines. sure, he might leave folks behind in every group, but he could well pick up enough to win the number of electoral votes needed. please remember this not a race based upon the popular vote.

that's for some other countries, not the US. the US is taxing it's citizens in order to police the world.

hopefully, other countries will soon choose to step forward and help share the load that our American citizens are now having to shoulder all alone.

Cruz is cruising to the top. We've got a long way to go. It's only a matter of time.

trump's strength and attraction will express itself in the Big Election if he opts to hang in there.

a combination of demo-independent-repub votes could put him over the top in many "purple" states, as well as blue and red states.

the end game is being carefully thought out, or the hillary and bush would have already dropped out.

i suspect the trump has a few good strategists on his payroll as well.

the question remains, who do we average joe tax-paying, work-a-day citizens want to lead us for the next 4 to 8 years.

Trump 21
Cruz 16

Cruz is behind five points in a state that he won when he started at the bottom.

Trump needs a lot more than five.

Some people still fail to realize that the GOP is badly split. There's the mainstream Republicans who continue to go along with the RNC's agenda, and then there's the protest vote made up of those who are having no more of the RNC's bullshit.

A big part of Trump's support comes from the protest vote. That's why the RNC's media machine can't shake it loose. The protest voters know the score and don't give a damn what the media says about a candidate who is obviously in the way of the RNC's plan.

The protest vote won't turn out for any of the other candidates. Essentially, they comprise a totally different ideology than that offered by the RNC.

On the other hand, Trump is acceptable to the mainstream Republican voters. If Trump is the nominee, the mainstream voters will turn out to vote for him in the general election.

If Trump isn't the GOP nominee, the protest voters will stay home.

Hence, it's Trump or another Democrat administration.

It's just this.

Lose the protest vote, lose the election,...just like in 2008 and 2012.

Yep.

Too many blue voters in the country today.

The GOP can't go into an election split and expect to win.

There's only one unifying candidate in the GOP race.

As much as we all like to tell everyone what's gonna happen, the fact is none of us has a clue how this will shake out. All I can say for sure is I'll vote for whoever gets the Republican nomination. I may not like the nominee at all, but I know damned well I won't like any of the Democrats. No doubt in my mind any Democrat would be absolutely disastrous.

I've got a pretty good idea. The RNC started out playing its games again,...trying to push Jeb. Jeb is at 4% now and the RNC is trying to destroy the candidacy of the polling leader.

If the RNC succeeds,..the Democrats win.

Seems to be something wrong with your poll. Perry's at 1 and he's not even in the race any more.

Actually, just the opposite is true. All the polls show several GOP candidates ahead of Trump in the favorability polls and head-to-head match-ups.
Those are the numbers that show who voters would vote for today. No way is Trump acceptable to mainstream voters.

In the overall race itself, Trump has dropped from over 30 to 23 points. And he just screwed the pooch backing Putin and Iran.

All Trump has had is the protest vote and the other two “outsiders” have cut that lead in half.
Name one candidate that Trump could beat in a one-on-one debate. It sure as hell ain't Fiorina...or Rubio...
