Hi,
Trying to decide which one to pick for everyday carry in an IWB holster. Leaning toward the Springfield because of Colt's trouble but have a line on a NIB Colt at a good price. Pros/Cons of each?

The new Colt's have been good for me. I think the quality is up. What did you mean by "Colt's trouble"? I guess I missed that discussion.
Does the Champion LW Operator have a rail?? I'll have to check them out. How does the weight compare with the bull barrel (I suppose all the Champion's have the bull barrel with no bushing)?

Why not Ruger new LW commander?
I have 2 Colts, and the Ruger and I would not hesitate to buy another, especially at the price point Ruger is at.
Enough already, just shoot it!

Colt, because it's a Colt & it has a barrel bushing.
I don't want any non-bushing "1911's".......just not in my DNA.
Besides, the new(er) Colt's might be the best they've ever made.
But I don't agree that all other 1911's are impostors.......lots of stuff is at least fully equal to or better than Colt.

….the new Colt Wiley Clapp Commander is as good (quality wise) a 1911 as any production gun made. It is the best "out of the box" 1911 in terms of "carry-worthiness" that I've ever owned. JMO-YMMV

I own Colts, Kimbers, Springfields, and Les Baers. For the price, I really don't think you can beat a new current production Springfield. And on that same price level, the new Ruger Commanders are very nice, too.

Thanks guys! just the info I needed.. Wasn't sure about the quality of the Colt's with their financial troubles and didn't want to get a pistol that would spend more time at the smith's instead of on my hip..

JMO-YMMV This by leaps and bounds. The Wiley is a "Colt Custom Shop" production and it shoots like one. Unlike some other "custom Shop" types by other makes. Got two of them. Other than that OP, buy the Colt at that good price your talking about.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

I'll take the Colt's every day of the week. If I weren't buying a Colt, it would be a Dan Wesson, or a Smith & Wesson (I have the S&W, but I'd rather have the Colt's).

FYI,
I just went to Colt's web site to look up the LW Commander which was the XSE model, and the XSE's seem to be gone from their web site. Furthermore, I didn't find any LW Commanders on their web site. That really sucks because Colt's was pretty much the last company making a LW Commander in .38 Super, and I was kinda saving my pennies for one. On their website look under Special Editions. You will see the Wiley or what they call it now the 21st Century Commander. Not in .38 Super though.
