Interesting Mike. I might have to try some quick burners in my 300 (Rem 700 rebarrel). I usually stick with 7828 and Retumbo. Interesting for to try. However you will be generally better off with the slower stuff. The other plus with the free bore is it reduces pressure spikes. This of course can mean you can use loads at higher pressure.

Mike,
Maybe some 4350 with a Barnes 150 TTSX?
Probably stick to Retumbo for the 200gr Accubonds...
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

With 26 inch barrel you should see over 3000 f/s with 200 grainers. 3050-3070 and 4831 will get there.
If you want proper loading data for Wby calibres try and get hold of one of the old catalogues they used to sell. That has for real data not the bullshit in today's manuals.
But if you have any like 4064/Varget and work a top load with 150 grainers you will be surprised at the velocity and quite often the accuracy is as good as it gets.

Mike378. What do you like in a 26" barrel USA built MkV 270 Bee ? IMR-7828 ssc and 130's. Most guy's have found 72.5-73.5 gr to be the sweet spot. Expect to see 3350-3450 fps.

You've posted this load before - in fact, it intrigued me to the point that I worked up to the same exact load in my Mk V. I'm getting near identical results and believe is going to be my "go to" load...

I too have has the same results in the 270 Wby.
In my experience the 270 Wby with top and accurate loads will be faster than the 7mm Rem when using 150 grain bullets.

So far it has worked on a few 270 Bees I haven't shot any fur yet, but have heard the LRAB can be soft for expansiion at long range/lower velocities. Do you have any "on-game" experience with the LRAB at these higher velocities?

Nothing ground breaking here, but seeing how I like RWS brass a bunch, and Norma/Weatherby brass not so much(been hit and miss in 7wby,for some reason). Get a trim die and some brass from the manufacturer of your choice and: Take a little off the top: And you get some Krout 7mm Weatherby brass:

Ive been wanting to take the 8x68 RWS down to 7mm with an Ackley shoulder and a Mashburn neck..Just for the hell of it.those 195 bergers might shine in such a cartridge. After dropping a bunch more cash, maybe i'll spoil myself and try one of those Kimber 7WSM's and see what all the fuss is about..Stick sure brings them up a bunch
