Picked up a pair of Vortex Varmint scopes, that have 30 mm Tubes... which the sales person was too dumb or lazy to tell me...

and I was too dumb or lazy to notice myself...

Most of my varmint rifles have Weaver bases or Picatinny Rails, minus the Ruger 77 mk2 Varmint Target rifles...

any input will be highly appreciated...

Burris Signature Zees are all I'll ever use on Weaver/Picatinny bases again:

Plastic inserts don't scar the scope, hold great and can be switched to offset the scope left/right/up/down.

All I use are Warne -- for both 30mm and 1" scopes. They are rugged, ultra-reliable and -- used properly -- never, ever leave any marks on my scopes.

When I use Weaver bases I use the original Weaver rings. Bulletproof.

That angled cut looks a bit strange to me, but I REALLY like the inserts. Not only no marks on the tube, but no slippage.

Second that on TPS. I've tried them all over the years and TPS rings are better than any, even ones costing two to three times as much.
