Looking for some nice quiet plinking loads. Do not want Colibri.
What's the quietest good subsonic? Is the "Quiet 22" stuff any good?

I use the Winchester .22 CB Match when I don't want to bother the neighbors. It's loaded on a .22 Long case so it feeds out of magazines (sorta) and of course seamlessly out of tube magazines. It's very quiet (out of rifles) but with a 29 Gr bullet at 77 fps it's got a decent amount of energy inside of 50 yards. http://www.winchester.com/Products/...nce/super-x-rimfire/Pages/X22LRCBMA.aspx
If something on the internet makes you angry the odds are you're being manipulated

I've got a few bricks of the 40gr solid Quiet .22s. Accuracy is decent at 50 yards from my rifle and it shoots okay out of my 22/45; even feeds once in a while. Ought to be a real ricochet special though at that velocity. Be careful.

I have had good luck with quiet 22 as well as cb long. Non are as quiet as the super colibri and colibri though. I hit a squirrel with the super colibri in the head at 15 yards and gave him a headache he won't soon forget. Yet he still keeps climbing onto my porch. Thought it would have killed him

If you can find any of the PMC Moderators they are the quietest I've ever shot.

The Super is a bit faster; has a tiny bit of powder, I think. Neither is designed for rifles. Some still use them, but stickng a bullet is a possibility.

I wish I could find some CB longs. I'm down to my last 8 or 9 of them after thinning the English sparrows from the garden a while back.
4 out of 5 Great Lakes prefer Michigan.

Anyone know why CB shorts are quite a bit louder than CB longs?

Never known CB shorts to be louder than CB longs; the opposite has always been true for me.

Anyone know why CB shorts are quite a bit louder than CB longs? Probably because sound is subjective without some sort of audio measuring device. Travis

The super colibri will shoot out of my 455 99% of the time. The 2 times bullets stuck were both first shots out of the gun in a few days, and the bullet slid out with ease with cleaning rod. probably needed a light cleaning too. Other than that no problems

I have, many times over, and have not found CB Longs to be quieter than CB shorts; I've found the opposite, and that's regardless of whether the CBs are CCIs, Winchesters, Remingtons, or Federals (yes, I still have a few boxes of old stock from those runs).
