Looking at a 14 inch Huskavarna rear tine with a 208cc Briggs engine. $600

I was looking at a 17" with a bigger engine. I'm thinking that yes I would have to make more passes with the smaller one i the first till of the year, but it would be more useful during the growing season between rows.

i'm thinking I don't need the bigger engine because I do no have hard ground, my place is all loamy sand.

Thoughts.

I have had two of the 17 inch ones, loved them and I was very hard on them, good tillers, and a rear tine is the only way to go

Nice tiller, but I'm not sure you can justify the cost unless you're running a pretty big garden.

The Honda I'm running right now is a 5 hp pulling 20 inches. Back in the late 70's when it was new, it could pull it in 1st pass in heavy clay and 2nd second pass. 208 cc should be in the neighborhood of 7 - 8 hp, so it should run with it in sandy loam.

Don't get the one with tiny tires. Get one of the bigger-tired models.
