I'm sure it just me, but I just love these newer FN Model 70's. At least the early ones. I don't have any of the later Portugal rifles. Have several of the 2011/12 Cabelas Ltd. Editions and one Winchester 2008 Ltd. Featherweight, and a couple JOC's, all with beautiful wood, but this one is somewhat unique.

One of only 250 Winchester Special Limited Edition Model 70 .300 Win Mag to commemorate the return of the new FN production Model 70 in 2008. I knew what it was when I saw it and jumped on it. Back in 2008 I think they were pretty much all pre-ordered and generally unavailable.

Pictures do not do it justice. Wood is so much nicer in hand. The scrolling is beautiful as is the baseplate. Feels absolutely incredible in hand, lighter than I thought it would be. Not a caliber I would normally be attracted to, but what a sweetheart of a rifle.

Nice rifle. FN was really trying to impress us in 2008 when they first brought back the model 70. Now not so much since they moved production to Portugal. You have some very nice early production FN's. Thanks for sharing..

Nice looking stick.

Have you put a scope on and shot it yet?

No scope as yet. Usually I go with DNZ one piece mounts on the Model 70's and I personally like Nikon Monarchs, of which I have an extra brand new 4x16x42 SF waiting for a rifle.
