Working up my 1st batch of 270 Win loads. Using Nosler brass 150 grain LRAB & Fed 210m. Hopefully get 3000+ fps & sub MOA from my new 25" barrel with decent working pressure.
Anyone trying this powder in a non magnum case?

Working with it in a 25-06. So far, I have great accuracy with 52 gr and a 117 SGK out of a 22" barrel. Velocity wasn't that great so I've run it up to 54 gr with the same accuracy but still not up to the velocity level I would expect from the -06. Max is 57 gr so another trip to the range is planned.

Bbear, what was your actual velocity compared to your estimated velocity?

At 52 grains it was a 'whoppin' 2600 fps. Haven't had a chance to run the 54 grain load over the magnetospeed yet. Still have some to put down the tube up to the 57gr max load. At 57 grains I would expect around 3100 or so.
I've also tried it in a magnum case (264 win) but never had the accuracy I was looking for so I never ran it over the chrony.

I think you will find it to be the "real deal". Tried in a 6.5x284 with new Lapua brass, CCI 250,Berger 140VLD (touching) in a 26" barrel for 3123 avg. The other benefit is it is supposed to be temp. insensitive. Previously used Retumbo in another barrel with same components for less than 3000fps.

If this powder lives up to its press clippings in my .270 Winchester case's, I'll be impressed. RJ338, sounds like your 6.5mm really liked it. Did you try a non-magnum primer 1st?

Using RL-26 in my FN Mauser .270 and it's getting 3010 fps average with a 150 gr NP from a 22" barrel.
