I was thinking this would be a good gun for home defense but with a rifle scope on it could also be used for hunting. I read on this truth about guns website that it was an 8 Minutia of angle gun. I don't think this would be good? Is the Tavor a good rifle for all around usage?
Yep. Save some money and buy a AR15. Heck, you could buy 2 Colts, a M-4 Carbine and a Hbar Target Model plus some ammo for the price of the Tavor.

the short answer is its about a 2+ moa gun. crappy trigger, and about double the cost of an AR. for the money if I had that much to spend on a home defense gun I would pay the money to SBR it and go ar 15.
Note that US Special Ops can buy any gun they want with an almost unlimited budget. They run M4s with aimpoints or M4s with ACOGs or Mark 12s with good scopes.
