The 17 HMR is pretty handy in that configuration, being able to hunt something other than squirrels would be a bonus.

I like that little rifle but will have to order it. I don't know if I want the 12.5 inch LOP ranch rifle or the IIRC 13.7 inch LOP?

I like that little rifle but will have to order it. I don't know if I want the 12.5 inch LOP ranch rifle or the IIRC 13.7 inch LOP? I bought mine with the short LOP, but I'm small statured and during hunting season am often bundled up pretty heavily, so the short stock works best for me. FWIW, I've seen lots of big guys shoot short stocked guns well, but it seems that smaller people suffer when shooting guns with stocks too long.
4 out of 5 Great Lakes prefer Michigan.
