Looking for insight from those of you who have gotten behind at least 2 of these if not all 3.
3-12 LRHS, 3.5-15 XTR ii, VX-6 3-18 with windplex and zero lock
I am pretty much set on getting one of these for my next rifle just hoping for some insight on which is the most forgiving to get behind. (Eye Relief is similar, but which is more forgiving as you near increase the magnification).
Weight is a factor so in that realm VX-6>LRHS>XTR II
I want to use for deer and long range dogs (out to 750-1000 yards) so in that area the VX6 has the most magnification but the least amount of travel (18.75 moa in the dial), XTR has a healthy magnification and the most travel but the Bushnell has more than enough elevation to get out to 1000 yards.
I am a little worried about the FFP at the low end of the magnification range for hunting but based on reviews feel like I won't be scared away until I get my hands on one to look through the first hand.
The feedback I am hoping for is how easy/forgiving they are to get behind, especially as magnification increases. Your insight would be extremely helpful.

I have the exact VX-6 you describe and love it. I have found the eye box to be less forgiving at 15-18x, but that is to be expected. I don't consider it a problem, especially not like an older Nikon Monarch I had where you had to stand on one leg and hold your mouth just right to see anything in it above 14x. I have not experience with the XTR II yet, but my other Burris scopes are very forgiving. No idea about the LRHS. I went with the VX-6 for the same reasons you are considering, large mag range and lighter weight. It ticks both boxes nicely.

In my swede, 18.75 moa should get me out to 800 yards so that is not quite what I was hoping for but is more than ample for 99% of the shots I would ever consider taking.

Just curious, where do you get 18.75moa per turn?
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

This threw me because my VX6 CDS dials have 20MOA per turn, but they are not ZL or windplex. [img:left] [/img] I realize this isn't the custom CDS dial, but there is still 20 MOA there, and if you deduct the small amount of travle the zero stop takes up, it's still 19.5moa. [img:left] [/img]

Even with the ZL, you still have a total of 75 MOA adjustment for windage.
