Just picked up an interesting push feed .280. It is in a FW stock, serial # is G20935xx. The left side of the barrel is marked MODEL 70 CAL 280 REM. Featherweight is stamped in cursive on the right side of the barrel. I have never seen a FW with the cursive stamp. Unfortunately, the stock appears to have been altered- it has white and black spacers between the wood and the red pad.

I just picked up the same in a .270, serial number G20997XX, and it has the same cursive marking. I guess it was just the way Winchester did it at the time????

I handled a pushfeed M70 carbine in 222 several years ago, and it LIGHTWEIGHT in cursive on the barrel.
