Mama and I ran up to the WI deer camp to drop off some stuff for the up coming season. We hung a double ladder for Noah and I to try to pop one out of. It looks like a good spot.

I also pulled the card on a trail cam I put up last friday morning.

I finally connected tonight on my archery tag, saturday is rifle opener and after that muzzleloader. so I was glad to be done. I missed 4 bucks bigger than this guy in the last 2 weeks frown but I'm happy with him. he's my biggest with a bow to date.

He has a nice rack, but that is the only pic of him.

That 8 is a pig. He's a bully for sure. I have about 10-12 pics of him.

That's nothing to sneeze at for sure. I'd be tickled to ever get a buck like that. Congrats!

Good luck, Tom. I hope you can get a shot on either of those 2 nice bucks. That one in particular looks to have a very big body.

Only 72 hours until I'll be sitting out with rifle in hand, hoping to see a nice buck.

T minus 67 hours and counting until our opener. Leaving for camp before sunrise tomorrow.

Some disturbing developments at deer camp. Someone's bringing up a Kuerig. Another is bringing catered meals from a restaruant friend. I'm so ashamed. The cure is to eat raw deer heart, but my fear is that they would slice it thin, add capers and call it carpaccio. eek

I believe you can offset catered food with various amounts of pickled foods.

I'm not sure what to do about the kuerig? I've never heard of such things at the camp? I'm sure there a few solutions, but the first one that comes to mind is to back over it with a 4-wheeler. By accident of course.

On second thought... Make it well known you're running it over on purpose so something like never happens again.

The hell you say! This is a serious infraction! Deer camp rules specifically prohibit the use of foo-foo coffee makers. What's next? Quiche for breakfast? Bon-bon's and truffles for desert? You must put a stop to this insanity!

A fitting punishment would be to make Mr. Keurig hunt with a 270!

Keurig? Does he wear skinny jeans too?

So Gophergunner is really putting the pressure on. He want me to line him up a deer on the last day of the season on public ground! No small feat that. But we have a good spot lined up. I hope he can seal the deal. Any good Hunter would.....😜

Too much new vocabulary for me to understand. Kuerig? Carpaccio? Quiche? Foo-foo? What has this place become????? We're suppose to spit, cuss, drink and gut critters.

I'll have to crack a High Life and ponder what to do next.

Back from deer camp, the big zero for our group. If we had doe tags be different lots of does were seen. My cousin got down from his stand for lunch, came back to fresh rub 20 yards away.Ouch.My dad passed on a little spike. And my buddy had a nice 8pt in the crosshair. Gun jammed up. Even thou we went the big zero, everybody was pretty happy compared to last year.

I'm fighting fire with fire, so to speak. Took Tom's advice. Stopped at the butcher and bought some pickled eggs, pickled bologna, and pickled turkey gizzards. That and a 30 cube of blaze orange buschys. The way I figure it, I'll load up with all 4 tomorrow after getting to camp. Opener is Sunday...I'll have 'em smoked out by Saturday afternoon. grin
