I thought there was a thread on this but after looking I can't find it. What are you guys using for replacement slings for pre 64. Are you staying with the metal sling holders that came on your rifle or replacing them with the screw in swivels. Thanks Ricky

Looks like Murray custom leather and Montana slings are popular. Anybody use either one of these. Montana sling about 1/3 of the price.

Brownells 1" Latigo sling works well with my pre 64 Fwt and the factory swivels. Don't cut very much off the end though. I think I only cut about an 1 1/2" off the end of the strap. If you get one, install it first and see how much excess strap you have. If you blindly follow the instructions, you may end up with it too short.

Thanks guys and Gusb that is the link I was looking for. I was beginning to thing I saw it somewhere else but here.

I actually use a sling for shooting, so I like M1907-type leather.
