I'm new to the forum, and i'm really happy to see there is a big population of left handed shooters here. what are you guys shooting? personally, I have 3 remington 700 lh rifles, on average it took me about 2 years to locate each of them. I have a 280 AI, which was my first, a 300 win mag (my favorite) and a precision 308. the 300 and the 308 I built, but I got lucky out of the box on the 280 AI.
so what do you have? how long did it take you to build/find it?

so what do you have? how long did it take you to build/find it? It's easier to make a list of what we don't have. Locating left-handed gear for me was a crap shoot until the mid-'90s. Since Ruger came out with the left-handed version of their Model 77 MKII, I've managed to accumulate a few of those, a couple of Remington 700s, Winchester Model 70s, an MRC 1999, Benelli SBEs, and an occasional Browning. It didn't take long to build or find any of them.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

I hear ya there. it just took me a while because I stuck to remington 700 actions (gun smith here recommended them and he is good with them) but it always took me a while to find actions, with the 300 the stock is what really took forever. next build is either going to be a light weight 308 or 6.5 creed i can easily pack around when i'm hunting, or the cz550 375 h&h left handed keep calling my name. two different ends of the spectrum, but i plan to put both to good use.

Regardless, welcome fellow lefty. I started with the Browning A-bolts years ago and have expanded the collection to a built up Rem700 308 precision rifle and a Savage in .204 Ruger.
It's great they have a Lefty forum here, albeit it doesn't see much activity.

We have many more options than have been offered heretofore. Ruger and Tikka have done a great job of offering a good selection of LH rifles. Blaser offers everything they build in a LH configuration.
There are 2 rules to success:
1. Never tell everything that you know.

Been playing with this one a lot lately, and I like it. Tikka T3 Lite in .223. Easily shoots 3/4" groups at 100 yds with Hornady factory V-MAX. It's sometimes under 1.5" at 200 yds. I added a machined aluminum floorplate/triggerguard and a aluminum bolt shroud from Tikka Performance. I haven't touched the trigger. Might have to buy another in .308. Bob

let's see, Currently 3 Remingtons (one rimfire), 2 Brownings, 2 Savages, 1 CZ and 1 Ruger in LH. As a matter of fact the only RH I still own is a Savage 243 that will shoot bugholes. I keep it around for a loaner. All of my shotguns are RH though. I couldn't get use to the LH eject on the 870 so it went down the road.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I've been pretty happy with the Tikka T3 .308 I purchased recently, will blood it in the next few days I imagine.
First LH was a Savage 110 in the 90's, before that I'd owned & hunted with RH guns for perhaps 20 years.
But frankly I spend more time behind No. 1's than bolt guns.

My first was a Remington KS Mountain Rifle in 300 H&H. My second a 1941 Model 70 converted to LH and rebored to 35 Whelen. A LH model 70 in 400 Whelen LH mini Mausers in 17 Remington and 6mmx222 Savage 11 in 22-250 (bought it to rebarrel to 220 Swift) 32 caliber LH flintlock Ithaca Lewis 10 gauge 2 7/8" with the triggers reversed for a lefty I have a LH mini Mauser action yet to be barreled but haven't made up my mind yet on what it should be.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Hunted with right-handed guns for 20 years solely for re-sale value. Finally decided it was time to think about my first left handed bolt gun and my first bolt gun with a wood stock. I went with a Ruger Hawkeye in 30-06, mainly because it was readily available locally. Seems like all other left hand offerings in town (Remington, tikka) were in synthetic stocks. Am very happy with the decision.

That's a nice LH 760 BSA - '06, 308 or 270? I'm wishing they'd offered some other calibers back then, like 243 or 6mm, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

It's a lot of fun to shoot... Pretty accurate too. It took me a while to find this lefty 760. Glad I finally bought one...
