I have a Borden Timberline .300 Win mag. that shoots lights out with every bullet I put through it. Any reason NOT to re-barrel it to a 7 of some sort? I don't hunt elk with a rifle and I love the .284" bores. I currently have a Gordy Gritters built 280 Ackley.
What 7 on a magnum bolt face?
Why is it called a double u, should'nt it be called a double v?

How about because its a good round already and shoots lights out.All the internet gurus say that the 280ai is a 7 mag anyway. ED K

Yes. Don't rebarrel. If you don't need it, sell it. You'll get your asking on the classifieds.
