With all the issues we heard about Mossberg bolt action rifles re: trigger issues, etc, has any gun writers evaluated Mossberg's latest offering, and have a review??

There's one in this month's American Rifleman.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

There have been several others (Shooting Times and others). In one article (Shooting Times?) it was in 375 Ruger and was well reviewed. For the price, it seems to be a real winner: quality, looks, effectiveness and value! This rifle might put Mossberg in at different level.

While they are getting better, their rifles have little visual appeal to my eye, so I'm unlikely to ever explore their other virtues. For now, the main attraction would be price. With online Howas and Hawkeyes going for from less than $500 to a bit more, and Axis and RARs from $200 to $450 or so, they're in a tough neighborhood.
What fresh Hell is this?

It probably is a pretty decent rifle, but the fact that it's a Mossberg will be an albitros around it's neck.Everyone will associate it to the ATR..I had an old Revalation in 308 made by Mossberg years ago,and it was a good gun..I think they would be wise to bow out of the rifle market, and stick with shotguns

Shooters of my "vintage" often look at rifles as long term investments, provided they perform. We like to know that OEM and aftermarket stuff will be available for our guns years down the road. Mossberg has had at least four different bolt actions that I can recall. With the exceptin of the Howa-based rifles, how much stuff is available to fix and upgrade the old ones?
Lots of folks swap rifles around a lot, so this isn't an issue for them, I suppose.
