I bought a nice 25-06 built on a 1909 mauser by Alan Dees. Kevin at Wesley Richards sold it to me last year at SCI.
Anyone know if he is still around, any history on him as a smith?
Like the rifle, hoping to shoot it one of these days...
Thanks
He's a cousin (or uncle?) of my wife. I met with him a couple times in '98 when on a family reunion. He also taught me how to properly hot blue a firearm. He's a true artist and the stocks he carved by hand out of blanks were something to behold.
He's still alive, but retired from gunsmithing now; has been for maybe 8-9 years now. Prior to becoming a gunsmith he would build violins from scratch. Guys with that kind of talent are hard to come by nowadays..
You got a beauty there, methinks, and I bet it'll shoot very, very well.
He still lives in Havre, MT..
