Use photo bucket to post pics.... Wood blue or stainless synthetic??? MKII, Tanger or Hawkeye??
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Stainless, brown laminate so I guess mark ii.. Cool, I've had both the brown laminated and pepper laminated 30-06, 300wm and 338's. I believe some of the hawkeye's have laminated stocks though...

Definitely a mk II. Congratulations on a fine purchase. I really like the shiny stainless and brown laminate combo.

Congrats - you got a very nice rifle. I have a safe full of Ruger M77, MKII and Hawkeyes and have yet to get one that won't shoot well.
There are two things I do to my Rugers, though. The first is I polish up the triggers. The MKII triggers are very easy to touch up and although many are fairly good from the factory a little polishing of the mating surfaces and a little Teflon grease can still improve them.
The other thing I do is float the barrel, which takes about 15 minutes. Once the action is out of the stock a Magic Marker in a 'U" shaped loop of sandpaper will make quick work of it. I then reseal the freshly exposed wood with a rag dipped in polyurethane. When putting the action back in the barrel be sure to tighten the action screws properly. I think it is 95 inch-pounds on the front, 65 on the rear and just tight enough on the middle to keep it from backing out. I don't have a tool to measure inch-pounds so I go with German specs - Gudentite on the front, somewhat less so on the rear and just tight enough on the middle.
Have fun with your new rifle!

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

I've always liked the laminated/stainless ruger m77 MKII rifles. They are a bit heavy, but I still like them. You have a nice one there. Congrats...

I am a Ruger man. I own 3 M77s. I hope yours is as satisfying to you as mine are to me.
