It has been a while since I foolishley traded away a Ruger No. 1H .375 H&H but a replacement of somewhat smaller diameter is on the way thanks to a member here. I have always liked the looks of the Alex Henry forend even though most seem to hate them. I will shortly have a 1A in .243 Winchester that will hopefuly be used by my 11 year old daughter to take her first deer later this year. I will put a Nikon Buckmaster 3x9 on it for now but plan on putting a Leupold 1x4 or 1.5x5 on it in the future. Those scopes with no objective bell just look cool on the 1As.

Great - I am not a huge fan of the full length stock. Prob is my gun guy was in my work today looking to buy a Pete and go trucking. Gonna have to get him before he does that....

Day after tomorrow I will be headed into the woods with my 1-A in 7 x 57. I have one in 243 as well but I like the 7 better. I have a 1-S in 45-70 and it was a real tossup as to which of the two I was going to use and after changing my mind three times now, the 7 has won out. If I don't succeed the first day perhaps I'll take the 45 out the next day. I do love those number 1's.

I have a jones for that rifle that simply will not go away. I may have to actually shoot one to see if I can cure myself. When Jim in Idaho and Mule Deer sold theirs I missed my calling for sure.
