Can anyone report on the velocities they are obtaining using the 69 grain Lapua out of a 20" barrel in .223 on an AR platform?

Thanks,

Jordan

Ive gotten good accuracy from the 69 SMK's with velocities around 2800-2850. I would assume the Lapua's could go the same speed.

I am sure they could be pushed faster but I am not one to chase pressure signs.

2950 is about tops for a smk. Never fired a lapua in my life. Sorry.

2950 is also very warm and has to get there with some fancy doings to be safe.

I'm getting 2950-2970 fps with 69 Sierra MK's from a 24" barrel. Haven't checked them in my 20", but I'd expect 2825-2850 fps, and they shoot very well at that velocity as well.

I'm running the 75gr Hornady BTHP out of my LTR at 2760 (avg), which is pretty in line with what Hornady lists for a 20" service rifle. I'd assume that with the slightly lighter bullet and appropriate powders, you'd be able to bump the velocity up into the range suggested by Wareagle....
