Wife wants one. Yeti are 300ish. No problem there IF its worth it.

I thought I once read from folks that fly a lot that Polar coolers were actually about the best.

Comments welcome.

As per Hack:

"The best bang for the buck especially flying home with meat is the nor chill marine cooler bag.

Left marathon Florida at 5am. ( 8 pacific) drive two hours plus to Miami flew to Atlanta layover there. connected to Portland or. arrived at 9 pm drove 3.5 hours home and that 28 pounds of fish filets was as hard as rock after 16-18 hours of travel.

This is the best soft cooler ever!"

I know that internet guy. His full name is Richard.

AO brand gets very good reviews - at one third the price of the Yeti.

POlar so far is what I think I remember as getting good reviews, same insulation as yeti, more than AO and others.

Norchill does not state what they have for insulation.

Its possible they are even better but hard to tell so far.

Another vote for the Bison. I bought the 24 can model this summer based on the recommendation of a trusted friend and it has impressed me.

As stated above, they're half or less than half the cost of a Yeti. The only complaint I've heard is the lack of a waterproof zipper, but that's a moot point given it's ability to keep ice, and when loaded it's not likely to turn over.

They all seem to use open cell foam. I'd be concerned with the shell(how tough?), stitching, and zipper.

Those Polar Bears look nice!
