Good evening. I currently own a Model 70 Stainless Synthetic 375 H&H. I was kicking around the idea of dropping the barreled action into a factory Laminated stock that Winchester uses on their Stainless Laminated Alaskan. My biggest concern is the barrel channel. I know the barrel on my rifle is as thick as a table leg. Not sure of the barrel contour on the Alaskan in the same caliber. I do have the one piece floor plate assembly. Any input/advice/experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Alaskan barrel is a good bit skinnier, but the stocks have a pretty good amount of wood in the forend so I don't think you'll have any trouble opening it up to fit.
