I'm guessing it's akin to asking about recent dating experiences with women.

Purchased an SPS 260 8 twist back in the summer. Sub MOA with NABs. Trigger adjusted down nicely with some tweaking. So far, no issues.

Bought 2 700 ADLS in the past year. No issues with any. I have to say that the sales clerk at one place SW tried talking me out of buying one.

SPS .243 youth. I added a timney rather than send it in for recall. 100% function and sub MOA to boot. I would buy again.

3 different sps 243, 308, 300 win mag all shot under an inch at 100 with some bedding and free floating. I have since rebarreled the 243 to shoot it in f class but it shot very well before the new tube as well.

So far the responses from members are what I expected. No real problems!

Ive bought half a dozen as donors the last couple years. Only real problem is the Xmark Pro trigger. After having the first 2 go TU on me ( one before a shot was fired...) I remove and replace them before I ever do anything else with the gun.

Otherwise, I obviously like them!

( Haven't had a bolt fall off, or the gun fire itself off, or grapefruit sized groups ar anything exciting like that yet...)

Bought an ADL about 1 year ago from Academy. No issues, but I did swap the trigger to a Timney. Shoots great and will be heading out deer hunting in a couple weeks with me.

The only real issues I have seen with new Remington's on the shelf is what looks like bluing salts on the scope screw holes. I've seen this on a few, oddly enough, typically the ones from the custom shop.

I bought one for the kids in .243 and they shoot sub-MOA. The stainless model feeds better than the blued version (possibly due to a jeweled bolt).

I'm happy with both but if I had to buy again, I'd bought them Tikka. The blued version took working the bolt to smooth up some. However, it's still rough compared to other actions.

Here are my experiences over the last 3 years on newly manufactured models:

New 243 ADL shot sub MOA for 3 shot groups out of the box. 1k rounds later still shoots sub MOA with almost every one of a dozen different bullets and almost that many powders. I have lost count of the number of sub .5 inch groups it has shot. I put it in a McMillan and it is probably my most trusted rifle. It actually shot extremely well with the factory injected molded stock but of course the McMillan feels better.

New 223 Sporter ADL shot around an 1-1.5 inch for 5 shot groups with the only load I tried (55gr BT and TAC) for 200 rounds. Bought it as a donor and pulled the barrel after that-it is awaiting customization. I feel confident it could have done even better with bedding, load development, etc.

Used 22-250 SPS Stainless sporter. Shoots ok only with my normal 55 grain load. I haven't done much with it as I don't really have a need for a slow twist sporter-weight 22-250. Bought as a donor as well.

The fit and finish on the newer ones seems to have improved over the examples from a few years back (Mid 2000's) with a finer matte finish and less cosmetic flaws. I have a 2007 SPS that is much rougher, for example. Function on all of them has been great.

A new SPS 308 earlier this year. Shoots most stuff MOA or better some much better. The trigger sucked so I put a spring in from Ernie the gunsmith and made a huge improvement. Not a single issue with it and I would buy more if an itch for something developed.

Just test drove my Wal Mart 7 Rem Mag today. Took the factory supplied scope and rings off and mounted a 6-18 VX 2. Loaded up 162 grain A-Max's to the lands with IMR7828,Mag Pro and H-1000. Most loads (3 shot groups) were right at or just under MOA with H-1000 delivering a couple groups well under MOA. Feeds and functions great and the X Mark Pro actually adjusted nicely under 3 pounds.

The only rub I have against the Model 700 is the left-handed versions are too damned expensive for what you get in return. For a rifle that was largely designed to be inexpensive to manufacture (stamped, press fit, aluminum assemblies, etc.), it's getting a little pricey. For just a couple hundred more than a LH 700 CDL runs, I can get a semi-custom MRC 1999 and for a couple hundred less than a LH 700 SPS runs (when you can find one), I can get a Ruger 77 Hawkeye.

At any rate, the two I have (a short action 700 LH BDL re-barreled to .250-3000 Savage and a 700 LH VS in .308 WCF) haven't been an issue. In fact, the .308 shoots better than a factory rifle ought to be allowed to shoot.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

i bought a new 700 sps in 243 with the varmint barrel. Took it to the range and fed it some factory hornady SST 95gr. Shot .5-.75 without trying. Trigger is not as crisp as i like them, so will probably be swapping it out.

I think we're at 11 with no issues.
