Anyone ever chrono a Ruger Compact in 308?

Don't own a Ruger compact 308, but the following may help as a guide.

Based on side by side chrony comparisons with my 300 WSM Frontier vs two 24" tubed 300 WSMs, I was able to retain on average 95% to 95.7% the velocity given the same identical handloads........

The results as he states, are thanks to todays more modern powders and should apply to all Ruger compact chamberings.

My 18" Ruger American Predator is about 100 fps slower than my 22" 308's with most loads. About 96.4% in this case. Some loads lose a little more speed from the short barrel, others a little less.

No, but in 16" barrels you can expect something like 2400 with 180s and 2600 with 150s.

I have gotten 2550 average with a 165 grain hornady bullet and varget. Got a 2800 average with a 110 hornady with a mid range load of varget. Hope this info helps.
