What would be a good 200-250yd Yote AR-15 with glass combo for under $1,500 and $2,000.

I'm looking at some and would like your help!

Take your pick of scopes, get an AR lower, around 300 bucks depending on the trigger. Look at white oak precision.com for a 204 upper with scope base. Good to go.

Of course for only 200 yards or so any flat top 223 upper with a decent barrel on it should suffice. IE 1000 bucks or so plus scope. RRA puts out good ones, with wilson stainless barrels. Have about the same by the bed with a 26 inch tube, stuffed full of 75 bthps, 4x12 leupy and has never failed me yet.

First, get a Stag Lower (Call them for quote, then add in a transfer fee. Mine was $200 +$25 transfer.) Then, a CMMG upper in a fairly standard configuration will get you something that will be accurate and depending on what configuration you get will be decent to carry as well. This should now have you at about $700-800. Decide on the remaining options, such as will you need backup sights or will you go for just the optic? There are a number of decent priced optics, and you should easily find one to fit the rest of your budget. Mine sports backup irons and an EOTech, and while I know that magnification would be nice this carbine does double duty, and the other duty has a higher priority.
Most scopes over $200 will be decent enough for hunting, and you can go up from there as high as you need to. I would say buy the best optic you can afford.

This guy was head-over-heels for the Bushmaster 16" / Weaver V10 combo.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> The 16" just so happens to be my favorite too..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I have shot lots of yotes with my bushmaster modular carbine. They run right at 1k with all the bells and whistles, minus the eotech that i added later. Out to about 200 yds the eotech is money on yotes for smallergame andlonger ranges i have a VXII4-12 all set to go, just pop the eotech off and the scope on, picatinny rails rock!

I built a Stag lower and J&T heavy varmint upper for less than $800. First ten shots from it after sighting, without a breakin period had 8 shots touching at 100 yards! I can't think of too many reasons to spend more than $800 or $900 for any AR!

Once I drove a 16" AR, the rest started hitting the block pretty fast.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

For a hunting rifle, it's hard to beat the BM V-match IMO....

Check out both RRA and DPMS. I have a sweet sixteen model from DPMS that is plenty capable of delivering a yote at 250 yards. Matter of fact is accurate enough that it could be done without optics. Any of the AR should shoot 1 to 1.5 groups at 100 yards with good ammunition. For yote hunting I wouldn't go beyond a 20 inch barrel. I want a gun that is easy to manuever and carry. If shooting prairie dogs than by all means a 24 or 26 inch barrel would be right at home. Esox357.
