I bought 2 pistols recently from guys who needed money fast so I got them pretty cheap. I plan on reselling one or both of them but I'm more of a rifle looney and am not sure what to ask for them. Was hoping someone doesnt mind helping me out with a fair asking price. I have, both in very good condition and both .45 auto :
Smith and Wesson 1911PD full size scandium - 2 mags no box
Kimber Ultra Carry II Stainless w/ night sights - 1 mag box and paperwork. Do not have break down tool (I use paperclip)
Thanks in advance for any info you have.

WOW, hard to go wrong keeping and carrying either or both! Many Kimber 1911's need several hundred rounds of live fire to break in and run 100%. I have not heard of this being the case with the Smith and Wesson 1911's. I have owned a pile of Kimbers, and most did need lots of breaking in, I have not owned any Smith and Wesson 1911's as of yet. Both are fine handguns. I would say shoot them both a bunch, carry them some, and then make a pick. Or use the old scientific "eeny, meeny, miny, moe' system.....

A NIB Ultra Carry as you describe, can be had for $900. I have to assume yours is used. Assuming like new condition, I'd say $700.
About the same on the Smith.

In our area, I'd expect pay this:
Kimber Ultra Carry II Stainless w/ night sights, and box:
Quick sale at $600
Within a week at $650
It will probably sit for a while at $700, but the compact size is a good draw to buyers.
Smith and Wesson 1911PD full size scandium, lightweight gun is a plus, does it have the rail?
Discontinued model, and a full size 1911 in a saturated market, with no box, would probably sell at $550
It might sit for a while at $600.

IIRC, S&W only made the PD version 1911 in a 4.25" (Commander) length gun. Can't be positive, but I don't think they made a PD version with a 5" (Full size, Gov't) barrel.
The 1911 PD is probably worth around $800 to the right buyer if it's in pristine condition.

Another note to help you out here. 3 inch bbl'ed 1911's inherently have pretty severe loading geometry and are often finicky about ammunition. When I bought a compact Kimber for EDC I went with the pro carry vs ultra as the 4 inch 1911's are not known to be nearly as finicky. If you plan to carry whichever one you keep, I would sure as heck shoot that 3 inch Kimber a good bit before deciding to keep and rely on that one. It might run great, but its doing so would not be a point to bet the farm upon.

I have a Kimber ultra CDP and have shot over a 1,000 rounds threw it, and never had a malfunction. I use Wilson mags and it is my everyday carry...

Sounds like you should shoot them some and keep the one that shoots the best or you like the best
