Just an FYI for you guys, Amazon has what seem to be factory Ruger 10/22 left handed safeties that are the same size as the regular one. I picked up 2 of them, and popped one in a 10/22RSI (1993 vintage) and a 44 carbine, and both work great! It's nice to finally have a decent lefty option where you don't have to swap safties out to pull the rifle out of the stock! They ain't too pricey either!
An answer to a problem that didn't exist. Left-handed crossbolt safeties work well when they're located BEHIND the trigger guard and there's a real chance that a right-handed safety can be accidentally engaged by a left-handed shooter and vice-versa. Safeties located AHEAD of the trigger guard don't present that problem.

They are still a pain in the ass to run, and I get confused since all my behind the trigger safeties are of the lefty variety. Much happier with something designed for me to use easily.

I can tell I'm dealing with a salty dog, high-speed, low-drag operator when you're using metrosexual terms like "run" when discussing a safety button. I mean, if you're getting yourself all confused with an inanimate object that simply moves horizontally about an eighth of an inch, you're really firing on all eight cylinders. Given your relatively young age and lack of experience, I'm not particularly surprised you're making these kinds of suggestions.
You should seek out some left-handed pencils, crescent wrenches, and screwdrivers while you're tapped into all your deep thinking.

Has that been your experience? You do a pretty good job of being a d!ck. Must come naturally.
So question some of the other trolls here are limited to one or two posts a day. Have you hit the big time yet or still trying. Must be terrible not measuring up.
It's useful to know that there are options out there and good to share information with a wider audience when it's found. I'd like to see a reverse safety for the Remington 597. That safety is in an awkward location for a left handed trigger finger. Better yet build the 597 and 10-22 with left hand eject and safety. Savage put out a left hand eject 64FL. There are upgrade kits available by M*Carbo for the Remington and the Savage.
