My step grandson has a nice model 60 Marlin 22 semi auto.. His mom told us he has trouble hitting squirrels and other game with this rifle, and has difficult shooting deer with his Mossberg 20 ga. slug gun.. The little guy is cursed with poor eyesight.. So mom wants to get him a scope for Christmas for the model 60.. Money is an issue, and she doesn't want $ help on this one. SO what is a good scope for her $ that will give a maintain point of impact once shot in..?? I have mostly big game scopes on my .22's and I can help with this issue.. What scope would you suggest they purchase?? Will probably look at a scope for the 20 ga. down the road.. But for now I need help with the .22.. Thanks!!

Shoot me a PM. I have a Simmons Deerfield 3-9 (silver). It has a floater. It came off my childhood .243. I'm not sure how it tracks etc bc I've never used the knobs.
He can have it free, but you'll have to verify its functionality since it has sat for years.

I put a Mueller on the wife's 17 hm2.
Really a nice little rimfire scope.
Don't know what they cost though.

The Simmons 4x shotgun scope is a pretty decent scope for that purpose. It has plenty of eye relief and is parallaxed for 50 or 75 yards. I have one on a Knight TK2000 which kicks pretty hard. It has held up well.

I've got three of the Simmons 22Mag scopes, some of the with no AO run about $40.
There was one on a .22 Hornet I bought a few years ago, it worked, and still does, though it's on a different rifle now.
I liked it enough that I bought two more WITH AOs and target turrets, they run about $70.
Dunno how they'll hold up, but the glass is adequate for the ranges involved, and they've tracked well enough.
I like them. The original Simmons I have, worked well enough on a .204 for awhile, and never gave any trouble.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.
