Tom,
That was a pretty funny post! I laughed at the 40 pounds away from the 30 you wanted to lose part.

Everyone will give a person a lot of advice on how to lose weight. I might as well throw my opinion out there. Calories burned must be more than calories taken in. Period. Eat big...exercise bigger. Can't exercise today, better not eat much. Walking is good. Buy a Fitbit and make sure you hit 15,000 steps per day.

You know how I can lose weight? When I am going elk hunting. It provides me with the motivation. Find something that motivates you.

Take care of yourself buddy!

Hope she's on the mend, Tom. You're probably going to have to be Mr. Mom for a while. "Kids, come to supper! We're having venison steak and Cheetos!"

As for high BP, welcome to the club. I've been on meds for almost 10 years. My numbers are good, medicated. And please know that for every 5mm of Hg reduction in BP, you reduce your risk of stroke by 50%.

Tzone, Berettaman is spot on.

Plan a western hunt for motivation. Even if its a ways away.
I use the same strategy and can honestly say.It works.

Thank you gentlemen. It used to be easy to lose weight. I'd drop 30-40 every summer with work. But as we get older and get promoted or take different jobs and not work as much in labor, I get lazy about it.

I do have a western hunt planned, but SD doesn't want to let me in! laugh

I have two years for that one since I won't be able to go next year.

Tom,
Bummer on the broken leg.I remember when my wife broke her ankle. It was a rather difficult time.
Walking has always been my weight loss solution. You just gotta do whatever it takes. The key word there is "DO".
Not think about but DO.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all Chickenbuckers.

Want a good laugh? The owner of the gun shop I work part time in has posted a sign which has gone viral.

Joe,

You need to tell ND, "Dad, boy you're looking tired, we should go to Camp for the weekend & relax" !

Hey guys, I haven't checked in for a while.

Real sorry to hear about all the trouble at tzones house, bust wishes for all the stuff going on there, jeeze.

As far as this weekend I will have to check with the boss lady, see what she says. We do need a Christmas tree, and unlike the deer population, the Christmas tree numbers are very good in the forest. Lol

Something clever here.

Same for me. I got down to my "marine" weight by signing up for an ironman. Without the motivation, I just don't eat right or exercise quite enough to stay in great shape. I need a specific goal.

Round is a shape Stan! lol

The boys and I are headed to the WI deer camp this weekend to do a little late season scouting. We are going to put up a few trail cams to see what's left, and check a few new spots for next year.

If we have time we'll shoot a few 22 roundns off. Jack has a basketball game in the morning so we'll head out after that.

Hey tzone, sorry to hear about the missus and the meds. Getting older is rough (for all of us)! 7 years ago I weighed a svelte 180lbs, then after re-injuring my back I gained 45lbs. Since august I went on a diet by cutting what I ate and using Copenhagen again (I quit for 4ish years and never really wanted to) and have lost 25lbs. This last 10-20 is tough though. Hopefully by next summer. Funny thing is I'm not as irritable any more! wink
