What do your think about it. I feel it's an infringement of freedom. Anyone over the age of 18 or 21 should have the freedom to not wear one but I'm sure it's about revenue and insurance companies pressing law makers. Mr Johnny Law won't do $hit to catch the pill heads and meth makers in my neighborhood but by hell he's will write 2 seat belt tickets every 10 minutes and gave my wife a speeding ticket this morning for speeding up before she was completely out of a school zone. The end school zone sign was not even 100 foot from where she got above 40mph. She was delivering a pain pump to a hospice patient and told officer bailey so. Same azzhole who wrote me 2 seat belt tickets in 6 days and wrote another ticket to anot her person before I got out of the parking lot. I mean I know these guys have a job to do but this guy is just harassing citizens. He is from Claiborne co. and has the highest seat belt violation situations given in the state of tennessee. Every single time I leave home he has someone pulled over within 200 feet of the end of my road. Hope carma catches him real soon cause it's gonna be bad. That being said I was guilty and will continue to be [bleep] em I will wear a seat belt never. NEVER!

It is an infringement of freedom.
If my wearing a seat belt would prevent me from doing harm to innocent people..I could understand it. It will only prevent me from harming myself...if it works...
FWIW Most common spinal cord injury occurs at the L11-L12 level....from seat belts....
I should be able to make the choice whether or not to wear one...but nooooooooo.....

Phouk the govt revenue machine. Seat belts and helmets both, screw em hard. Azzholes.
It's always been about revenue generation on the govt side and insurance companies on the other. We're slaves to our masters.

about a year ago I kindly asked a state trooper to move his patrol car from blocking my business drive way. Why he needed to park there was beyond me but I have a business to run and he had my access blocked for almost 45 minutes before I asked him to move. I left the office at noon and guess who pulled me over for 36 mph in a 35 zone and gave me a seat belt ticket, ya i hate seat belt laws.

Government would argue those injured in an accident become a financial burden on society.
Government would also repeat that point.....in support of the astronomical taxes on cigarettes.
One question......who pays to support the last days of those suffering from AIDS?? Isn't Government incurring/encouraging that cost on society......with the national, court-induced passage of gay marriage?

I wear seat belts, but think it should be my choice, helmets same way. Helmets don't save as many lives as some think, most deaths that occur from a motorcycle wreck are caused from internal bleeding like spleen damage.

God, I love NH. No helmet laws, no seat belt laws, no income tax, no sales tax. We park a vehicle open the door and go hunting, if the land isn't posted. No deposit on a beer or booze. Life is good.

Isn't Government incurring/encouraging that cost on society......with the national, court-induced passage of gay marriage? You can use the "burden on society" argument to outlaw anything. Cigarettes, soda, salt, literally anything. It's a BS argument that can be used to justify any government regulation of any activity. Once you accept it as valid you've given them free reign to regulate everything.

Which, like seat belts, we are coerced to do.

That being said I was guilty and will continue to be [bleep] em I will wear a seat belt never. NEVER! A little tense today? But I hear ya - I refuse to wear a seat belt unless I want to, and that's only when I'm pulling one of my larger trailers - especially the camper (18K GVW).. Otherwise, they can KMA.. It seems your cop buddy is (1) dedicated or (2) he needs to fill a quota or (3) is just an a-hole.. If I (ever) get stopped for a SBV my question to the officer will be, "...don't you feel it's ever more important to drive in such a manner as to never NEED a seatbelt?" Hilarious that we're not allowed to drive w/o a belt but I can climb on the Harley w/o helmet and (certainly) no seat belt and be perfectly legal.. The majority of these inane laws are nothing but a revenue flow for local LE divisions.. JMHO..FWIW.

Seatbelts are a good idea and wearing same is a smart decision, but it is not for .gov to legislate such for adults.
The tickets should go to the drivers with an infant strapped into a car seat working on emphysema from the smoking parent forcing the baby to inhale smoke.
