Hello all,
I have never posted anything to the rimfire forum so here goes. I am thinking about doing some research into the 9422's. I.E. How many were made, what serial numbers, how many variations, of those were they .22LR or .22 Mag, etc.
Can anyone lead me to some "experts"? I have a few of these and most are NIB. I see the market is flooded but not with the rare stuff, like high grades, high grade 25th anniversary and Custom tributes, yellow boys and such. Any thoughts or help?

Leverlover, I have a number of these, and I shoot them. I probably shoot the 9417 the most.
Years ago I picked up a 9422 Yellowboy in .22LR. 250 made or 500 . It had the very worst wood on it that was ever put on a 9422. I think it was a poor grade of something that would have made a better fence post. I sold it to a blind guy, all he could see was yellow. I see one for sale for $1375.00 NIB, recently. RFC has a SN base for these.

My opinion, but I think these are the finest lever action rimfires made.
I presently have a 22 Mag. in the lam stock. Have owned several other variations in the past.

I have to say i have not shot a Winchester 94/22, i would like one in 22 mag though if i were to get one. i sure wish Marlin would have done a 22 mag version off the 39A platform.

The Browning BL22 is my favorite 22LR lever for looks, plus I love the short lever throw, but I have to admit my 9422 has a slight accuracy edge.

I have a 9422M in a legacy which had the longer 22" barrel. With the little leupold it shots a dime group at 50 yards all day.
If anyone knows where I can buy a yellow boy .22LR for $1350, I'll take 10.
Thanks all

My 9422 in 22 magnum is amazingly accurate with Hornady V-max (hovers around the low 0.3" range at 50 yards - have some rimfire rifles that I use in rimfire silhouette that can't do much better!!).
They are commanding premiums - especially the NIB low production models.

Who knew the 9422M was such an effective deer rifle?

Why wouldn't the .22 M. kill deer……………. my old 1890 in .22 WRF, with the old original cartridges killed deer. The new CCI lawyered up ammo doesn't have the juice.
