Well I went to look at the 43 and ended up putting the 19 on layaway. Also like the compact double stack model but the 19 just feels best in my hand. My problem is I have a hard time keeping my belt where it belongs with nothing on it. Anyone else have this problem?

What exactly is the problem?

I guess its that I ve never used the right belt/holster combo yet. Anyway I had planed to get the little 43 so it would be easier to carry all the time. I can still get it but the little compacts feel so puny in my hand.

I agree that the G19 feels much better in the hand than the G43, and I talked myself out of purchasing a 43 for that very reason............and it carries half the ammo. I have no idea what you're talking about with your belt, but the answer is still; DON'T SCRIMP on your belt or holster. Start HERE looking for a belt. There are many other good sources, but you won't go wrong with this one. Then decide IWB or OWB for the holster. If IWB, go up a couple sizes when ordering the belt. Milt Sparks, Kramer, and Alessi are the brands I can personally recommend, but there are other well respected makers.

For leather TheBeltman horsehide are excellent as are Milt Sparks belts. I can recommend those two from experience owning a couple of each. For cordura the Wilderness Instructor five stitch are excellent as well. Well worth the money for any of those belts.

I'm going to get the Glock 19 as well. Also curious on what IWB works well for this pistol.

Hard to beat a G19. Milt Sparks Nexus or Criterion depending on if you think you need the steel reinforcement at the top or not. That's nice at the range but not necessary for daily carry. Or the Crossbreed Supertuck

I have both. I don't have huge hands, but the 43 is small. It's difficult to keep my thumb off the slide release. There is little room to rest my thumb since I shoot thumbs forward. Consequently, the slide doesn't always lock back when emptying a mag.
Shooting a full box of ammo gives me a small blister on the bottom of my trigger finger where it touches the top of the trigger guard, due to the combination of little room inside the trigger guard and recoil. It is very easy to conceal though, and doesn't recoil as much as you might expect for its size.
The 19 is very easy to shoot accurately. However, I wouldn't mind if the grip were a tad smaller. Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 or a Versa Max 2. The Versa Max is very comfortable, but both are pricey.

I carry a G19 but have never found a IWB holster that is comfortable enough for everyday carry. I use a Bianchi OWB holster ( model 7)or a Galco Combat Master and just leave my shirt untucked or wear a vest. Very concealable and very comfortable.

I really like the size and capicity of the 19! However, I shoot the 17 better. I also shoot the 26 quite well.
I think it has something to do with the spacing of the finger groves. It fells like the spacing of the 17 and the 26 are the same. The 19 feels different.
I would like to see a non finger grove 19 with Gen4 texture on the front and back strap only. Just something to wish for.

I picked up a 19 Gen4 earlier this week and got to shoot it a little yesterday. The 43 was tempting and if I already had a few other pistols I might have choose it but my pistol collection is very small and figured the 19 made a better "do everything" weapon. For me the 19 was the best compromise between size and capacity. So far I'm really like'n this pistol.

Never cared for the feel of Glocks. Obviously, I'm in the minority.
My buddy just got the long slide 9 mm (34?). Neither of us has shot it yet. Looking forward to testing it out...

Thanks guys. I'll check these out. I do want to go with the G19 and that type belt. What holster you'll recommend? I was a holster snob before I discovered what an excellent IWB holster El Paso Saddlery makes. I actually prefer it to anything I've owned from Milt Sparks. I carry my Glock 17 in El Paso's Covert Force (C-Force). Hardly know it's there. Make sure to Loctite the belt loop screws when you get it, though, as they may eventually back out otherwise, as one of mine did. El Paso sent me a bunch of replacement screws free of charge, even though the warranty had long since expired.

I really like the size and capicity of the 19! However, I shoot the 17 better. My experience, as well. I have both, but the 17 gets the daily carry nod since I shoot it quite a bit better, and see virtually no down side on the concealed carry dimension. If anything is going to print (short of bending over to reach for something on the bottom shelf at the grocery store, in which case the 19 will print too), it's going to be the rear of the slide, and on that count, the two guns are identical anyway. So why not take advantage of more grip surface, increased capacity, increased bullet velocity, and increased sight radius? Odd as it seems, I find the 17 ever so slightly more comfortable to carry IWB, too. Something to do with where the bottom of the grip contacts my back.

I like Glocks in full sized guns, though.

I just put a stick on grip on my Glock 43, that I got from Taran Tactical. I think it is called the "talon"
Just de-grease the factory grip of the Pistol, pull backing off the new grip, stick on, then heat with a hair dryer and squeeze and press on to remove any air bubbles.
This adds just enough bulk to make the grip fit my hand better. Also adds a "tackyness" (SP?) that helps the Pistol stick to my hand.
So, to answer your question; the 43 is MY favorite Glock 9mm.

Virgil B. Did you get the rubber type Talon grip or the sandpaper type?
