Won't be long. Someone will get an aftermarket stock going, I'm sure.

Questioning what their reasoning is for the threaded barrel, without a factory break available. Maybe they have plans in the future. However, this is what they should have done with their other models as well. Sell it with the thread cap, and sell the break in the shopruger store. Just like buying scope rings.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new magnum versions and will probably buy one.

I agree with the idea that Ruger should stock a matching brake for these rifles and allow shooters to easily buy them from the Ruger Store. I thought that would happen when the other model came out with a threaded barrel... maybe now.

Yep. That would make a lot of sense. I would assume the threads are the same as those of the brake system used on the Hawkeye Magnum Hunter and Guide / African models

I'm also interested in seeing one of these new models. The magazine is different than the standard models, I assume because the magnum cartridges are too fat to use the original style.

I am really interested in the 300. I have been looking for an inexpensive 300WM (that still shoots decently) to burn up some factory ammo I have sitting here. I want the brass but don't want to put the shot count on my custom 300.

They are listed at 7.5#s. So all dolled up they'll be close to 9#. I'd think that's not in the horribly light category for either a 7mm or 300 mag.

And.... I imagine that if they do come in a bit lighter than advertised, that's part of the reason for the threaded barrel... a brake. Brakes are getting very, very common on rifles used for long range shooting. I don't mind brakes nearly as much as I used to.... I have mill worker / logger ear plugs hanging around my neck all the time while hunting... it takes just a second to pop them in place.
