33.5 gr H110 with a 260 gr partition handgun. I don't think they make that bullet anymore, but it should work with any 250-260 gr (except Barnes).

It gives me low 1,700s with a 7.5" barrel and does all I need with modest recoil.

Take with hot loads and soft cup and core bullets in a .454. They can upset in the forcing cone. For example you will want to limit a Hornady 250 XTP to about 1400 FPS whereas the Hornady 240 XTP Mag is fine at any speed...

Simply put the XTP mags are tuffer, meant to take the high velocity end of cartridges suck as the 454 Casull.

I use enough ww-296 powder to run the 335 gr Cast Performance WFNGC bullets to 1585 fps in my 7.5" barreled Freedom Arms 454, never seen the Tolkat from Ruger, and my speeds are certainly not necessary, but for some unknown reason my revolver shoots best a full tilt speed. crazy

I use the same powder and bullet in my 6" Freedom Arms, very accurate. I'll have to check my notes, but I don't think I can go quite that fast without the loading gate rotating open under recoil...
