I just joined this site and have posted in a couple of different areas on this site with very little advice back.my question is anyone hand loaded or sighted in the bigger caliber BLR`s and what kind of groups have you had ? I just purchased a new 300 win.mag but have not shot it yet. need some advice. I own many bolt rifles and have hand loaded for over 35 years and have competed in state bench matches,i just like lever guns own a 308 win in a BLR now that shoots ok,but want my new 300 win. mag. in BLR to shoot well also. thanks for any advise,Pete53

I have been on the possible hunt for a BLR. They are fairly accurate with 1st and 2nd shots, sometimes the 3rd will fly out an inch or so at 100yds. That said they are fast to follow up and I would think that the 300 would be a great gun. There are a few youtubes you can look at too for accuracy.
What are you looking at - stainless, pistol grip, scoped how?

I purchased a 300 win mag. S.S. with pistol grip put high mounts with 4.5-14x50 lepould scope, will be using my handloads about a medium charge of powder from reloading books.hopefully this gun likes 4831sc that works in the rest of my 300`s.

In today's world of precision machinery, I think you will be very happy unless you are looking for 200yd 3 shot groups touching :-)
I check scope accuracy with a leadsled and can put shots in the same hole with it. So I can honestly say it is not the gun that is not capable. PS - best investment I ever made for sighing in.
Nice gun!

thanks for the info my friends are now wondering if they should buy a BLR browning too ? after watching the show the last Alaskan and watching ray lewis use his old Winchester lever in a 30-06 to hunt with that finally sold me to buy a BLR ! the BLR Browning just seems extremely durable for ruff cold hunting plus the fire pin is kinda hidden so it does not freeze up as easy as a bolt gun and I have had a few bolt guns freeze up in the mountains, plus the feel and how these lever BLR`S come up just hard to beat,i plan on use`n mine in the foothills of montana first.
