I have an opportunity to buy a H&R Handi rifle in 500 S&W. It would be more of a toy than anything else, sometime deer hunting round.
I reload and DO NOT plan on pushing it hard, more like trying to duplicate a 50-70 i.e. Cast bullets at around 1100-1200 fps.
Anybody got one?

i pulled the factory wood stocks off & went synthetic, and replaced the factory sights with a williams ghost ring hi-viz sight setup. In going tupperware, it reduced weight by about a half pound, and it kicks like an angry vengeful bitch when shooting full loads.

i mostly shoot unique or longshot handloads at about 1/2-2/3 power and with lighter bullets... 275/325/350gr....at those levels, recoil is not bad.

I reworked the stock on one for a friend. The factory lam stock is a clumsy plank but does come up OK with a bit of trimming. The 500 S&W is a fun little blaster
