ridiculously warm here for the next few days. Might drop into the high 20's out in West Texas, in 10 days.

I worked up a sweat toying with my car in the garage this afternoon. Beautiful sunset this eve.

You should definitely shoot an axis..... I don't think it's going to happen now, damn it. All the Axis are in the high fence area and that just ain't my bag.

Any 32+" horns on their axis deer, Dan?
I'll still hunt that 5K acres with you, Scott.

I could see one of those little fellas getting a lot of work, Pat. Are you going to run it with irons, for the piggies?

The high fence portion of the ranch is still 5000 acres I hear you, I'll get a feel for it when I get there and decide. I asked about the cost for Axis in an email but he didn't break it down, just said $1500-3000. No shiet, that was on their website.

I could see one of those little fellas getting a lot of work, Pat. Are you going to run it with irons, for the piggies? It's a 7.62x39. Probably mount a straight tube Loopey on it, at least for testing. Which is now sitting on a .475. Although I do have a NECG receiver sight that could come off the .458. Gonna give it a whirl tomorrow. Maybe pop a spike with it this weekend or next. The chamber is quite tight on it, and the throat is very reasonable for 123 gr bullets, so I expect it will shoot well. Choices, choices.
