Just received this awesome rifle from a good member here on the fire.
257 AI Dakota Model 97 on a long action. Trigger breaks like glass, bedding is damn near perfect. Dakota uses Krieger Barrels.

Loaded up some ammo today.
49gr RL19, 115gr Nosler BT.

Range report to come. Might be my favorite rifle purchase of 2015.

I had a custom built rifle in 257AI on a pre64 M70 action. It was a tack driver with the 115gr NBT. I didn't use it much (to many rifles) and sold it. Not ne of my best decisions. You might give the 110gr Accubond a try as well. They work well in my current Roberts.

Would love to find some 110 Accubonds.

Can't wait to give this one a go on deer next weekend.

Try Midway, Natchez or mid South shooters supply. My local sporting goods store has them. Hopefully a 25/06 is coming my way and I'll try them with that as well and in my 257 Wby.

Very nice rifle. I like it!! What's the "all up" weight of that one?

Sakohunter264: Great looking Rifle in an interesting (to me!) caliber.
I hope it shoots well for you.
How long is that Krieger barrel by the way?
In your picture it looks long.
Enjoy.

I'll measure the barrel, but thinking its 26".
Gun is a little on the heavy side at 8.65 lbs with a scope.

Nice rifle! Sort of a M70/Rem700 cross. I like it!

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Beautiful rifle. Cool cartridge. Those 115 BTs will put the pain train on WT's!

Great looking rifle. Interesting to know about the MPI stock, and definitely like the green stock.

I've had mine in .270 for about 8 years in stainless with black stock.

Pretty darn excited about today's range outing. Not to mention a 1.75-6x Leupold.

I bought two of those early on and they were out-of-the-box accurate and trouble free......wore out the barrel on the 243 and retubed it to fast twist 22-250. The 270 still shoots great. You'll love that rifle.

I do wish the bolt release allowed use of Talley Lightweights.
