I hear you, I was just hoping, so I wouldn't have to do another 2,000 mile drive.

I hear you, I'll get a feel for it when I get there and decide.

I asked about the cost for Axis in an email but he didn't break it down, just said $1500-3000. No shiet, that was on their website.
Scott I spoke to him it is dependent on size so a 32" will be $3000 for sure

Well, it's pouring down rain and 60 degrees and I'm leaving now to go shoot a deer.

I would like to wish all of you guys a very Merry Christmas and hope that everyone and your families are healthy, wealthy and wise.

You bet. Fair is fair. If we can tag a 32# plus for 3K, it's worth killing the 2 birds with one stone (trip).

I likely would have passed on a 1000-1500 acre fencing but 5K is a lot of ground to cover. Plenty of time to decide. They aren't going anywhere. Don't want one in velvet.

Shot the Ruger today. I confirmed that (ahem) one can run faster speeds than factory 7.62x39's. grin The load was within book, but it's going quite a bit faster than factory - like say 250 fps faster. smile

It seemed to do better with Hornady 123gr SST's, which measure .3104", versus Sierra 125's, which measure a true .311". Last 3 shots were in a 1/2" at 100 yards with the Hornadys. It's ready to kill a deer.

I'll likely do some more load development with it over the next few weeks. May even try some 150 gr in it.

The little 123 ought to be a wicked deer killer. If you can come up with a load with a 150 that would be a game changer, I would think.
