They spend a lot of money buying land and easements for hunting, and conservation projects. That said they are like everyone one else always asking for more money.

Join and you will never need return address stickers again.

Yes RMEF is about fund raising. But it goes into land access, habitat improvement and enhancement. They have an A rating by charity watch organizations. I am actively involved in the local chapter, do a lot of work promoting the organization too. We have supported youth hunting events, hunter education, disabled and veteran hunts along with things like fence removal, water collector installations and population counts. Plus, I get to hang out with a bunch of great folks who love elk. Oh, and Bugle Magazine is a pretty good read too!
There's 2 dates they carve on your tombstone. Everyone knows what they mean. What's more important is time that is known as the little dash inbetween.

Razz says it all. IF you can find a non profit who spends a higher percentage of their revenue on their specified objective (90%+) you have a rare organization. They do a tremendous amount of land acquisitions, easements, youth support, etc. for the good of wildlife and human use. Their volunteer work force is to be commended. Their overhead is minimal. And yes they actively recruit monetary support.
The Bugle is a great magazine. Fine articles. I have saved everyone for about 20 years. Someday when I am reduced to setting in my rocker drooling on myself, I will read thru them again. They have a very good listing of outfitters in each issue.
I have built and donated a knife to the live auction since the first year we started the local chapter.
In my opinion, their banquets have a higher general quality selection of items available than most of the other well known outdoor related organizations.
I don't get many address labels any more, but could use some with and elk on them.

Thanks folks:) Not a resident of any western state and being a Yankee I thought I would get some advice from some of the people that make their living chasing these critters. Who better to ask, right? Sounds like they really do some honest work. I have stacks of Gray's Sporting Journal I have not begun to read through yet. Much the same with the NRA.
BH63 Not going to be cooking any outfitters, just some seasoning. lol
