Crockett,
Your request is a tough one to respond to. One of the reasons the Yosemite/Kowa YF/Savanna 6x30s are so good optically is because it is 6x Porro prism bin coupled with a 30 mm objective. To get similar optical performance with somethin /8 mm or smaller you would have to lower the magnification as well, a 5x/5 for example. Nobody really makes a good quality 5x25 and anything higher in magnification while still maintaining the 25-28 mm objective isn't going to be as bright or as relaxed of a view.
If you throw the roof prism design into the mix them it becomes even harder to maintain image quality in this configuration and price point. I;d be tickled with a little 5x25 compact, and I imagine a few bow hunters and lepidopteran-enthusiasts would agree! (Thanks Frank)
Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

Pretty much made up my mind Im not going to buy anything until I look through them. The local gander mountain didnt have the compact Nikon I was looking for, have to wait for a trip to Cabelas I guess. I was overall impressed with the Nikon's though, their monarch 5 or 6 I looked through was better to my eyes that the Zeiss they had.
