Anyone know the serial or caliber? 1948 would be a 5xx,xxx Chicopee rifle but since it appears to be a TD the serial might be earlier. Savage...never say "never". Rick... FUG1899 Campfire Regular F Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 1,158	Rick,The gun is a take down built for Shaipur Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in office from 1941 thru 1979 F.D.R. was in office from 1932 thru his death in mid 1945 I believe the gun was built on a 1930's frame so you have a 4 year time line!
