I'm looking at putting in for one of these this year. I only have one perference point, so hoping for the best. I'll be doing a diy, rifle trip, so no wilderness areas. Anybody ever hunted in one of those units? Any luck? PM me, if you had prefer. Thanks.

You forgot to tell what areas you are looking at.

Lots of public ground in Unit 67, 68. 69 has some ground also, but their is also wilderness connected to it.

I've been looking at the Medicine Bow area. Everytime I find something I might be interested in, I find bad reviews of that area. I'm really just looking for a good chance at a legal bull without being shoulder to shoulder with other hunters.

I think Medicine Bow and North of it are unit 16 which requires max points.

That site has good info; you should be able to find an area that suits you if you play with it a bit.

Units 12, 13, 15, & 21 are all above the herd size objectives. Lots of public land without wilderness area, but also have wilderness areas you could hunt near. All general season too. No grizz and no wolf if you're apposed to such critters.
