Maybe I should point out that while I moved here from California, I was born and grew up on a small Texas farm, My family were Republicans that never asked the Government for anything and taught me conservative values. The years in California never changed my thinking. I just want a peaceful life and to have enough guns to make sure I get it.

Some of the Californians moving to places and then trying to change them to be more like where they came from is true.
It is human nature. We see it in California, too.
People move to California and then complain about all sorts of things that aren't like where they came from.
The big city New Yorker's are the worst, because they are hard-wired to complain in the first place.
The most egregious example are the Mexicans. They fly their flag over ours and want to change the official language of California to Spanish. They sure seem to like American dollars, though.

Two major things that happen.
1) They come here and try to turn Montana into California Jr. (in multiple ways).
2) They come here and try to modify the greatest stream access law in the country.
Whoever above blew a gasket about people complaining about the influx of Californians please note, they (we) aren't complaining about normal people who come here from California, just the nuts. Agreed^^^^^^^^^^matter of fact....we probably don't even know the normal folks are from CA because they go about their business without bitching and moaning and thinking there should be a f*cking law regarding every single aspect of one's life.... My wife and my good friend Rancho both claim to be Californian but you would never know it....

My apologies. I did not intend to offend or kick up some dirt. I was only trying to avoid conflict among good people.
California is screwed up; it is a microcosm of America. I am being forced out of my home by liberals and lunatics as well as the costs. So I will not drive up the costs around your place if I am lucky enough to get out; I won't have t a lot of money on a enlisted man's military pension and a crummy cop retirement. But I promise not to sue if I move downwind of a pig farm. I won't tell anyone how to do it better as I am still learning everything. As for fixing it, California is a beautiful place overrun with grubby people from somewhere else. These grubby fools multiply faster than I did; I became a father at 48 because I would not start a family unless I could ensure I could raise them right. My second wife didn't get the memo. So I am looking at a place that would be good to raise daughters in an American way, and place that would be good for me. As a gun owning veteran with a classical education, I am an outcast in the state of my birth.
But looking at the other threads here today I hope I can help a neighbor (with my little skill set), enjoy a cup of joe, and maybe, just maybe, get a little hunting in before decrepitude takes over.
PS: Okay, Montana is out. Mind if I visit? You're welcome in ID....but don't take your ball and go home if someone says something that hurts your feelers.... Ha! Thanks; my third world wife can do that better than anyone around here.... ... but Montana is for visiting purposes only per Ingwe. And I have seen too many leopard thongs in San Fransicko to drive that far and have to see another one. I am trying to get away from that madness. In a serious note, I appreciate the directness and to the point comments. It saves a lot of time and I feel the same way, most of the times. I certainly don't blame anyone for their observations of California Liberals as they drive me crazy as much as they do you. They are just control freaks- as much as any sixth grade click of girls. Too many people here are the ones that want to run your life because theirs is such a mess. (See Barack Obama)

He's good, busy workin' and just taking a break from this place. Rancho passed away this yesterday morning after a long struggle with pills and alcohol.
I'll ask that you all keep this in mind before you post any further.
He is survived by his wife and children.
Travis Heard about the death yesterday eve, didn't know it was Rancho till a little bit ago. More fodder for chit-heels on here to talk smack about I'm sure.

We had a couple from California move near our range and try to get us shut down. I spoke to them before they bought the home. I told them to talk to the surrounding property owners to get a feel for what it would be like living there. They cost us a lot of money. I have a lot more, but that's probably the worst.

Sadly many of your fellow caliotoeites don't feel this way too, because they just keep moving here and proceed ffuking things up. Sometimes I think half the cops from CA. that retire, come here.

wow, after you having the courtesy to talk to them and suggesting they talk to the neighbors they still made problems for you.
That's about as bad a "californian" story as I've heard.
I wonder if that couple moved to AK if they would try to stop the AK natives from killing and eating seals and whales and wearing fur?
Rest assured, If it had been me, I'd have asked for a membership application.

My experience with CA immigrants is that they immediately try to change where ever they land into what they left.....I can't explain why but it really does seem to be ingrained in them.....avoid the urge and you'll be fine.....
