Merry (belated) Christmas all!

First post of 2016! Happy New Years everyone.
By the way, had a great pheasant hunt yesterday. Hunted 3 hours with 2 buddies and shot 5 roosters and a ruffed grouse. First Ruffie on my property. Had to work hard for them in willows and cattails-just how I like it. Great dog work too from 2 brittanies and a lab. Man, they were fun to watch in action.

Happy New back at ya.
Well I started the new year off with a bang . I was putting away the deep fryer thingy and I tipped it over spilling oil all over the bottom of the cabinet. CHIT ! I said Grandson heard this of course and said "Papa we don't say CHIT that's a bad word and your in big twouble go to your room your in time out"
Now have you ever tried to clean up one hell of a mess with tears filling your eyes? And the wife was no help edder she laughing harder than I was .

Looks like its going to get cold soon. I'm ready. Still have hope that i might get my wheelhouse out this winter.
Hearing of some people going thru the ice around the metro lately. Happens every year. Crazy.

Idiots that go out on two inches of ice end up going through. 'Can't believe the risks people take for a bucket of fish.

for the "Chance" at a bucket of fish! I agree Gopher, that is nonsensical!

Not this guy, our ice is 3 weeks to a month behind last year and I guess I'm just fine with waiting. Even with a brand new 21' custom ordered ice castle fish house parked at home in the driveway. lol, what r ya gonna do? We'll get out there when it's safe, and if it doesn't happen I guess we'll plan some summer camping trips with the new wheel house instead. We can fish right now, it can be done safely with ATV, snowmobile or walking out on foot with portable gear. I guess I'd rather wait for super thick ice and the comfort of the wheel house though. Happy late new years to everyone by the way!

Hey Dave, i was out yesterday just north of Pine Island, we had 9" of ice in our house. we took my ranger out there. the river still has open water up there and actually they said it was getting worse too. i heard about 3-4" only over by arnesons. very differnt year from last.
It is a silly fish that is caught twice with the same bait!
