Morning Looking for some 416 taylor data and really have not found any published data. Wondering if anyone here loads for the taylor? Also looking at 458 winchester data and thinking it would be ok to start with starting published data to load the 416? Thanks Chris

I have a load sheet that came with my set of Lee dies. If you post which bullet weight were you wanting to load I can give you their data. All loads were using Accurate powder.

------ Best powder? RL15 70.5-75gr, 2,254-2,394fps, 48,800 cup, SD4

I use necked down Winchester 458 WM cases and load 400 gr bullets.
Using either the 400 gr Hornady round nose bullets or Nosler Partitons I started at 75 grs of the new CFE-223 powder sparked with CCI-250 primers, at 77.5 grs in my rifle I achiever 2407 fps at a col of 3.320".
Accuracy and function was stellar, iirc I used the same previously twice fired case for all velocity testing then loaded it again and fired it as part of the three shot accuracy test at 100 yards, primer pocket was still tight on what may have been the 8th or 9th loading of this particular case.
Good luck, I love the 416T, it's a helluva round and very efficient for all the power and performance you'll be sending downrange on into animals.

don't have a 416, but here's some info from sources i have:
john wooters wrote of imr 4320 in his article on the 416 tayor in africa
he used 70-74 grains of 4320 with 400 grain bullets.
nick harvey mentions 4895 ,3031,4064,748 and 4320 with 400 grain bullets in his manual

Good evening. I've loaded my 416 Taylor with 5 different powders.
My go to load is 73.2gr of RL15 with a 350gr Speer.
The gun was built using a Remington 700 action, with a Shillen #5.
Shoots 1/2" - 3/4" 5 shot groups at 100yds very consistently with this load.
It's definitely hard on the shoulder and cheek bone. Excellent cartridge!
