I've got the chance of picking up a NIB, unfired 981T for $150. I've done a little research on the rifle and the only complaint I can find is a failure to extract issue.
Other than the horrible trigger, can anyone elaborate on the quality of the rifle.....or lack thereof.

I've been very happy with mine. If you do have a failure to extract it can be a pain to deal with just like any other tube fed rimfire but it's not that big of a deal. Accuracy with mine has been great. As for the trigger, there are after market triggers and you can swap springs out which is extremely cheap and will help some. For $150 you can't go wrong!

My kids both have the 981TS and, back when you could get them, liked to shoot .22 Shorts in them. Lots of DIY videos on Marlin RF bolt gun trigger fixes on the net.
